I can't access my Facebook account
Our customers contact us because they do not have access to their Facebook account. There are two reasons for this:
- The account is hacked – this happens when hackers find your password and log in to your account;
- The account is blocked – this is done by Facebook. The social network is blocking the account to protect you or because you have broken the rules.
What should I do when my Facebook account or business account is blocked?
Don’t try to scam, cheat and you have to follow Facebook’s Advertising Policies. Turn on your two-factor protection.
Now I will tell you a few stories and you will see for yourself how important it is to protect your Facebook account.
Many companies contact the Coonecto Digital Agency with problems such as cracking Facebook passwords, blocking accounts, deleting pages or withdrawing money from the account (how does this work? – as hackers place ads for another account and another page with your card from your business manager). The unpleasant thing about the whole situation is that you only find out after it has already happened. The account is blocked, the page is gone, they have withdrawn money from your account. You don’t have to keep a lot of money in the accounts you use for advertising campaigns, they have to have a small limit. The hackers are tireless and it is not known in time whether they will not be able to find a way to break through the security measures that Facebook has now taken.
Case 1: Someone is running ads on my account.
One “wonderful day” the client receives a message that his business account has been blocked, stopped by Facebook due to illegal actions in it. We started looking for “anomalies” in the account. Fortunately, the client quickly realizes that the account has been broken because a new page appears in his Business Manager, and there is some very strange activity that he notices in the notifications. And this is where the problem begins, he sees that a foreign account has been added to his advertising account, from a foreign country, and the worst thing is that he sees someone trying to run an ad with a daily budget of 1,000 euros from his account. Fortunately, this client was lucky because Facebook detected a problem, the algorithms defined it as a strange activity and blocked the whole account.
What we did was immediately call the bank to block the card, because it is not yet known what they may have invented, and we went in to remove, delete and report these foreign accounts. In this case, we missed each other slightly. We’ve already created a new ad account so we don’t risk it just in case.
The problem: The client receives the so-called phishing email. The email was sent as if from Facebook. He wants to click to log in to his account and he does. Through this e-mail, they take his data and thus enter his account.
Tip: Never click in emails that for some reason want you to sign in, no matter if it’s for a social network, bank or another account.
Case 2 Why should I protect my Facebook account?
The client receives a message that access to the page is restricted. The business manager understands that as an administrator there is a new person (Chinese) and no access to the email. Result: they hacked the email and then logged in. The bad thing is that in this case the hackers managed to place an advertisement and spent BGN 800 from the account.
The client stops her card again, but can no longer access some of the pages because they were only on her “hacked” profile and no longer has access, they are lost.
The problem: Due to the easy password, they managed to access the mail and from there have access to Facebook, after which they become administrators and delete the real owner of the page.
Tip: I advise you to use very strong passwords that have characters, have lowercase, uppercase letters, numbers, and don’t make any sense. But still remember her. And one more tip, you always had two administrators on the page
Case 3 Why don’t we send a lot of messages to our customers on Facebook?
Here we will talk about how we are guilty of blocking our profile or page. We made a game that was about comments. I don’t know if you know, but when someone comments below the page you have 7 days to send them a message on behalf of the page. So we had over 200 comments, that’s over 200 leads that we could irradiate and write on behalf of the page, but we didn’t think that when you write over 200 messages, it will signal to Facebook that something is wrong. . Facebook doesn’t like spam, and our messages were pure spam. Then we immediately received a warning from the social network that it temporarily restricts us from sending a message and so ended our idea to connect in a personal message with our customers.
Problem: We were temporarily blocked from sending messages, but there was no problem when someone wrote to reply.
Tip: Don’t try to spam on Facebook. Use bots for this.
Case 4 Do not try to provoke comments under the posts yourself, they should be obtained organically.
I’ll tell you how we tried to play Facebook and of course it catches us. At the moment it is very important for the pages to be active, to receive interactions, to comment on posts. The more dialogues there are under certain posts, the more successful the advertising campaigns with them.
So for our client we released a post that we had decided to reinforce with advertising, because it was for a new product and also had a very limited interest in it from fans of the page. But in order to have a more successful paid campaign, we decided to raise the commitment even more by starting to comment under it. And what happened:
Problem: Facebook not only limited the ability to write comments below the relevant post, but even stopped our ad and sent us a warning that we were trying to cheat.
Tip: Run your advertising campaigns according to the requirements of Facebook, do not try to take actions that would have bad consequences for your page. I tell you from experience.
Case 5 Why shouldn’t we have more than one personal account?
Despite my repeated warnings, the client decided to create a second profile to use for his business, so as not to confuse personal and business profile. I was sure it wouldn’t do any good, but he was adamant. His starting point was that he wanted to share offers by groups, and this only happens through sharing from a personal profile. Although group sharing is no longer as successful as it once was, Tok created a business manager based on his new personal profile, and made his own page there, and he was the only administrator. All this happens before the information reaches me and we as an agency did not have access to the accounts!
Problem: Facebook blocked his account, explaining that this account was not real and everything disappeared – business manager, the created page (it was new and had no fans, but Facebook no longer allows to create a page with the same name.)
Tip: don’t create more than one account, rather add a trusted contact and protect your current one, but it’s important that the account has a real name and data, especially if it’s used for business.
Case 6 How important is it to comply with Facebook’s requirements for paid advertising?
The account was blocked here due to non-compliance with Facebook’s advertising recommendations. It is well known that drugs should not be advertised, as well as the repair of defects, weapons. Even if you do not belong to this group, you should take your photos and texts very carefully. Because Facebook keeps track of exactly these slight nuances and hints. So a client came to us and said that he wanted us to prepare ads for him, so far he has tried himself, but his advertising account has been blocked, although he does not offer beauty treatments, Facebook does not allow it. When we looked at the account, we noticed that his business is not really about drugs, but he advertises a service to treat colds, coughs, and this is definitely not allowed!
Problem: According to Facebook, this page does not meet the requirements for creativity.
Tip: Be very careful about the content you post on Facebook.
It is very important to protect your Facebook account from hackers, be careful when posting or preparing ads so as not to block it. With all these examples, I want to save you a lot of headaches and help you get around some of the problems you may face. I know you don’t trust yourself until you feel it on your back, but I leave the ball in your hands!
